Therapy for Anxiety

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is your body's alarm system. It is built to switch on when there is a real threat and switch off once the threat is gone. It becomes worth paying attention to when the alarm keeps going off too often, too hard, or at things that are not actually dangerous, and it does not fully turn off afterward.

Everyone experiences worry from time to time. Anxiety becomes more than everyday stress when it feels persistent, difficult to manage, or begins affecting how you live, work, rest, or connect with others.

THIS COULD BE FOR YOU IF

When It May Be Time To Reach Out

There is no rule about how bad it has to get before reaching out. It might be time if the worry is present most days and feels hard to control, if it is affecting your sleep or relationships, if you are spending a lot of energy trying to cope with it, or if it has gone on for months without improving. You do not have to be in crisis to deserve support.

WHAT THERAPY CAN DO FOR YOU

How Therapy Can Help

Anxiety convinces you that staying on guard is keeping you safe. Therapy is where you learn that you can put the guard down and still be okay. Over time, it can help you:

  • Learn coping skills you can actually use in the moment

  • Reduce anxious thoughts and quiet the mental noise

  • Improve how you handle big or overwhelming feelings

  • Build steadier confidence in yourself

  • Create healthier daily habits

  • Develop resilience that lasts beyond our work together

WHAT WORKING TOGETHER CAN LOOK LIKE

What Working Together Can Look Like

I use a trauma-informed, collaborative approach tailored to your experiences and needs. Depending on your goals, our work may include:

  • EMDR is a structured method that can help the brain process old, stuck memories so they feel less charged in the present.

  • Parts work means getting to know the different sides of you, including the anxious part, with curiosity instead of judgment.

  • CBT helps you notice the thought patterns that fuel anxiety and practice new ways of responding to them.

  • Mindfulness and practical skills help lower the daily noise and give you some relief while we do the deeper work.

I do not rush, and I do not work from a script. We go at a pace that feels right for you. The goal isn't to get rid of anxiety altogether. The goal is to help you feel safer in your own mind and body so anxiety no longer runs your life.
