Therapy Modalities
Therapy at Hope Journey is grounded in a trauma- and attachment-informed approach. This means we pay attention to how past experiences, relationships, and patterns shape how emotions, thoughts, and connections show up today.
Depending on your needs, therapy may integrate the following evidence-based approaches:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR helps process painful or overwhelming memories so they feel less intense over time. Using eye movements, tapping, or sound, the brain learns to release what it no longer needs to hold.
It’s especially supportive for trauma, anxiety, and experiences that feel “stuck.” Healing happens gradually without needing to retell every detail.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps you notice thoughts and feelings without getting pulled into them. Instead of fighting discomfort, we learn to make space for it with compassion and move toward what matters most to you.
It supports emotional resilience, self-acceptance, and living in alignment with your values.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy explores how thoughts shape feelings and behaviors. When patterns become critical, anxious, or overwhelming. CBT teaches ways to reframe them and build coping skills that support emotional balance.
It’s practical, structured, and great for anxiety, depression, and everyday stress.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy teaches skills to manage intense emotions, communicate effectively, and move through stress without shutting down. It blends acceptance with change, honoring where you are while building new tools to move forward.
Helpful for emotional dysregulation, relationship stress, and feeling overwhelmed.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy focuses on strengths, possibilities, and what’s already working. Instead of staying stuck in problems, we explore small steps that move you closer to goals and hope.
Ideal for clients who want clarity, direction, and tangible progress.
Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Mindfulness offers space to slow down, notice emotions with curiosity rather than judgment, and reconnect with the present moment.
It supports grounding, lowers stress, and deepens mind-body awareness.

Parts Work (Internal Family Systems - IFS)
Parts Work views you as a whole person made of many “parts,” each doing its best to protect you. Some carry pain; others carry strength. In therapy, we gently meet these parts with compassion instead of shutting them out.
As they feel understood, healing and inner harmony become possible.
